Dai San
Weapons Course, Shaun Hoddy is running a course on the weapons section
of Koryu Dai San. This is a must for those 1st Dan's who are training

- I am pleased
to announce that Shaun Hoddy of the Shoshinkan School of Tomiki Aikido
has decided to to join with the ADS, This will allow them to continue
their access to the BAB Coaching award scheme that they have previously
passed. Shaun and his members that have requested to join our
association will also continue to be members of ZETAR and will follow
their own syllabus. But as our syllabus are nearly identical that should
never cause any of us any problems, After we all practice Tomiki Aikido.

On
the 23 August 2007 we held a green belt grading for Neris

- While building the new menu's I have realised that
we do not have a good copy of the Urawaza (The Ten Counters) on Video or
Pictures, So we need some of the high grades to create a copy for the
web site. Please contact Steve Billett if you wish to take part in this
project.
- Neris of the Chigwell Club missed training on
Thursday 26th July 2007, His excuse was his wife gave birth to a baby
girl a few days early. Well done from all of us.
- We are updating the menu
system on the whole of the site which will take a few weeks as we now
have over 3 Giga byte on web pages on the ADS site, So please bare with
us during the update.
- Members of the ADS from David
Lloyd Chigwell club and London Aikido Dojo visited the Cinque Port Aikido Summer
school at Folkstone on the weekend 7th/8th July 2007. Steve Billett and
Tony Evangelou were part of the coaching team over the weekend.

- A new feature has been
added to allow you to see if you are eligible for your next grading in
line with the syllabus minimum time scales for grading, It is still the
coaches decision when you are actually ready for your grading, See

- The David Lloyd Chigwell
club held a double Dan grading on the 05 July 2007, after which we are
pleased to say that Jarek Darecki and Paul Dobson successfully attained
their 1st Dan.

- The ADS welcomes Tony
Evangelou and the London Aikido Dojo to our association, We are pleased
that a group of Aikido players with their expertise are joining will us.
Welcome to one and all and we look forward to joint training sessions

- Members of the David
Lloyd Chigwell club are planning to visit the Cinque Port Aikido Summer
school at Folkstone on the weekend 7th/8th July 2007. Steve Billett will
be one of the coaches over the weekend.
- The ADS site has just
been moved on the web server and the database areas that were not
functioning have been fixed. Therefore the
FORUM is working again, so please all you Aikidoka use it for any
questions you may have.
- I have just found a link
on the Aikido Alton club website Poland about the trip that we made to
them in May 2005, As i don't read polish someone will need to translate
it for us. See here

Cassey of the Renshukai
Aikido Club
came to the Chigwell class and gave us a brilliant Iaedo and Hanbo

the Kikusui Kai Aikido Club in Auckland New Zealand and trained with
John Waite 7th Dan JAA. See

- The ADS technical
committee has slightly revised the grading syllabus to include details
of minimum training periods and have documented the Dan Grade syllabus
up to 5th Dan. In the near future further changes that are under
discussion may be implemented. Read the revised syllabus
here.
- We have held grading's
at Bournemouth
and Chigwell in the last few weeks, Well Done to all that have
passed......

members of Loughton E15 Acting school who received their Yellow belts
from Don Bishop during December 2006.

- Here's a great clip found by Paul Jones of
Sensi's Tomiki and Ohba demonstrating from
donkeys years ago on
Utube.
You will see how they performed the Unsoku and Tandoku Undo
(Hand and Foot Movements) years ago before it was refined by Sensi
Tomiki.

- The December Chigwell

- Steve Billett and Paul
Crayfourd were pleased to teach at the London Aikido Club course held by
Tony Envangelou on Sunday 4th June 2006, The course went very well
considering, Amy had only been born the previous morning. (Steve did
have permission from Ann to go!)

 We
are pleased to
announce that on the 3rd of June 2006 Ann Billett gave birth to a daughter
Amy Catherine June Billett at 5.55am She was 6lb 14oz mother and baby
are both doing very well. (Ann hopes to be back training in July). It
seems that we may have to start a mother and child section of the
association soon.
- The Folkstone Ester
School was held once again by Joe McEnroe, We all had a great time and
plan to be there again next year. No pictures are available yet as Deji
and Joanne have not provided them (hint).

Our February 2006 grading were held at the Chigwell club where Stuart
Adams obtained his Aikido 1st Dan exactly thirty years after receiving
his Judo 1st Dan.

Paul
Dobson and Penny Terry have produced our latest recruit. Lucky for Paul
he just got back from Hong Kong in time for the birth of 'Half Penny' or
'Hapeney' as he is called until they decide on a name.
